Privacy Policy for Plastory WPC

Effective Date: April 28, 2025

1. Who We Are

Our website address is: https://plastorypanels.com. This privacy policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website.

2. Information We Collect and Why We Collect It

a) Comments When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form (such as name, email address, and website, if provided), and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string. This information is collected primarily to help detect and prevent spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture (if associated with Gravatar) may be visible to the public next to your comment.

b) Media If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download images and potentially extract any location data embedded within them.

c) Cookies Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use cookies for several purposes:

  • Comment Cookies: If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
  • Login Cookies: If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
  • Article Editing Cookies: If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, but please note that some website features may not function properly without them.

d) Embedded Content from Other Websites Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, maps, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website directly.

These external websites may collect data about you, use their own cookies, embed additional third-party tracking technologies, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content. This includes tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that external website (e.g., watching an embedded YouTube video while logged into Google). We do not control the data collection practices of these third-party websites.

3. Who We Share Your Data With

We generally do not share your personal data with third parties, except in specific circumstances:

  • Password Resets: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email sent to you for security purposes.
  • Spam Detection: Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service (like Akismet) to prevent abuse.
  • Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you (e.g., website hosting), so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

4. How Long We Retain Your Data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law.

  • Comments: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata (including name, email, website, IP address) are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
  • Registered Users: For users that register on our website (if registration is enabled), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile (e.g., username, email address, name). This information is retained as long as the account remains active. All registered users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that user information.

5. What Rights You Have Over Your Data

Depending on your location and applicable laws (like GDPR or CCPA), you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
  • Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.
  • Limitations: Please note that these rights are not absolute. We may not be able to erase data that we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information provided below.

6. Where Your Data Is Sent

As mentioned previously, visitor comments may be processed or checked through automated spam detection services, which may be located outside of your country of residence. By using our website and submitting comments, you consent to this transfer.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
